November 2025
The preliminary public consultation on the Rhône Decarbonisation project, which took place from 24 March to 20 June 2025, saw strong participation from the public and local stakeholders.
Key figures:
- 900 participants in 19 meetings organised in three departments and two regions,
- 400 contributions on the environment, safety, the route and regional benefits.
The discussions were constructive and focused on major themes such as energy transition, carbon neutrality and industrial safety.
Following this consultation, the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP) issued a favourable opinion on the continuation of the dialogue, which is now being conducted as part of an ongoing consultation process. This phase will enable open dialogue with the public to be maintained, involve citizens in the next stages and ensure transparency in the monitoring of the project.
